There is a lot of fear about the idea of going to treatment and anyone who has never been to rehab can be understandably nervous about it. It is the simple fear of the unknown combined with the massive task of facing life without the crutch of self medicating. This can be a bit overwhelming.
So when you first get into rehab they are going to have to process you from a paperwork standpoint, and also from a medical standpoint. You will have to sign some papers and possibly lay down some signatures regarding the financial portion of your stay, depending on how you are being funded for treatment. Then you will have to be checked in with the medical staff and evaluated. They will also want to get a full drug use history and profile from you so that they know how to treat your withdrawal. They might also need to drug test you in order to know exactly what is in your system.
