Drug Abuse in the Workplace?

Question by Gracie Girl: Drug Abuse In The Workplace?
There is a new girl at my job, who only started about 2 weeks ago. She seemed like the sweetest thing, but something about her just seemed off to me. It just seemed like she had a constant stream of really bad luck. One of her stories that bothered me the most was the one about her sister. To make a long story short she had told me her sister has both bone and brain cancer after getting into a car accident, breaking her hip, being in a coma for a week, and having ovarian cancer. I know sometimes people really can have all of those problems thrown at them at once. So I offered to help out with any fundraising activities. My job joined in and someone even prompted their church to help out. Everything was fine until her story started to fall to pieces. I googled both girls out of curiosity and found that they are both heoin addicts with a long and recent string of arrests and that her sister doesn’t actually have cancer. They are raising money to feed their addiction. I talked my coworker out of getting her church involved, but do I say something to my boss about it? I don’t want anyone to lose their job, but I also don’t want them to make money off of good people for drugs. I knows she shoots up in the bathroom, so if she overdoses, do I become responsible for knowing whats going on?
